Linked accounts

Sign in with Google, Apple, Telegram or Discord, link Steam, unlink any of them, and choose who sees your gaming names.

For: Guests, Hosts

One Party Up account can hold several accounts from other services. You find them in Settings, under Linked accounts.

Linking an account

1.

Open Settings and find Linked accounts.

2.

Press Connect next to Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord or Steam, and finish on that service.

3.

For Steam, Party Up first says what it reads: your Steam ID and your public Steam name. Press Continue to Steam to go on.

Google, Apple, Telegram and Discord can also sign you in: once Discord is linked, Continue with Discord opens your account. Steam is only linked, never used to sign in.

Tip

If the Google, Apple, Telegram or Discord account you link already belongs to another Party Up account with nothing else linked, the two Party Up accounts become one. If that account has other linked accounts, the link is refused: unlink them there first. A Steam account that belongs to another Party Up account is refused too: unlink it there first.

Unlinking

Press Unlink next to a connected account, read what changes and confirm. You always keep at least one way to sign in, so your last one has no Unlink button. Unlinking Telegram also stops the Party Up bot from messaging you.

Showing your Discord or Steam name

Turn on Show to people at my events under Discord or Steam to show your name to the people sharing an event with you. The hosts of an event you are part of see it at any time. The guests with a confirmed seat see it from 24 hours before the start until the event ends. Your name only shows if you are a host or hold a confirmed seat, never from the waitlist. It stays off until you turn it on.

On the event page they can use Copy for your Discord name, or Add friend on Steam to open your Steam profile.

Checking your games

When Steam is linked, Party Up can tell you whether the game of a game night is in your Steam library. It asks Steam about that one game when you open the event, or when a host opens an event you have joined, never reads or keeps your whole library, and keeps each answer for a day at most. Only you see your answer; hosts see only how many confirmed guests have the game, from three confirmed guests. That count never names anyone, though comparing it over time can hint at whether a guest who just joined has the game, so it is refreshed at most every few hours (an incomplete "At least" count can update sooner). Turn off Check game ownership under Steam to stop it.
