Your privacy and your data

Why Party Up asks for your name, date of birth and gender, who sees them, and how to preview your profile or download your data.

For: Guests

Before you start, Party Up asks for a few details about you. Here is why each one is asked and who sees it. The full rules are in the Privacy policy.

Why we ask

First name and Last name: hosts and guests see who is coming. Other people in the app see your handle, or your first name and the initial of your last name. The admins of the groups you belong to or ask to join, and the platform admins, also see your full name.

Date of birth: Party Up is for adults, and hosts can set age limits on their events. Your date of birth is never shown to other people.

Gender is optional and is never shown to other people. It lets a host open an event to women, men or a balanced mix; if you choose Prefer not to say, the app asks for it when you join one of those events. With your date of birth it also feeds statistics about Party Up as a whole, which only platform admins see and which never name anyone.

Tip

You set your name, date of birth and gender once. To correct one later, contact support: you get an answer within a month.

Your data

1.

Open Settings.

2.

Under Account, tap Download my data for a copy of your data.

3.

Under Danger zone, Delete account closes your account. Party Up first shows what happens to your groups and events.

Tip

On a phone, Download my data opens the share sheet with a file: save it to Files or send it on. It holds everything Party Up has about you.

When you tap Delete account, Download my data first keeps a copy before you go. The confirmation stays open.
